Students have worked hard for the past weeks inquiring, researching, meeting with their mentors, working in their groups or independently, taking action and finally the exhibition staging.

See the students in action!

Learning to read is a little bit like learning to ride a bike — while you are balancing a person on the handle-bars, holding a pole, spinning plates, and focusing on the destination at the same time! - Kristina Robertson (2009)

March 2015 Reading text connected with the Central Idea

3/12/2015

We read a contemporary autobiography excerpted from the book by Huynh Quang Nhuong. Among other reading skill activities, the focus was on relating text to the central idea, ‘Children Face Challenges’.  They responded to the text by first linking text to self in a small group discussion and then linked the text to the central idea. They enjoyed illustrating their writing!
