· Phonemic Awareness · Phonics · Vocabulary · Fluency · Comprehension We read a contemporary autobiography excerpted from the book by Huynh Quang Nhuong. Among other reading skill activities, the focus was on relating text to the central idea, ‘Children Face Challenges’. They responded to the text by first linking text to self in a small group discussion and then linked the text to the central idea. They enjoyed illustrating their writing!
