Narratives and mini lessons

This week,  the  students were busy writing narratives.  However, we paused for mini lessons on past tense verbs to help with their revisions. In one lesson, the students had to sort  past tense verbs into different categories.

The students used poetry to to write about and reflect on what they had seen
using Haiku, Acrostic and Concrete poems.

The students have written Haiku, Concrete and Acrostic poems so far. We will  do Cinquaine poems, as well.  In addition to poetry, we are learning how to write narratives. Below is a picture of our ESL bulletin board which has a sampling of poems.
